2013 Update

Remember that time that me and my sisters started a blog, and then we wrote on it a few times, and then nobody wrote on it for-freaking-ever?
Well, guess what?
We were busy, a lot has happened since october 2012!

Abby wrapped up her senior season of soccer at Dixie State University. She is awesome. I will sure miss sitting in the stands cheering for her.

We had a great Christmas! It's always the best when we get together for holidays.

Then, in January, our sister Arica had a baby boy. His name is Taj, he was born on his cousin, Licoln's first birthday. We are all so happy for Arica. If you want to read her birth story and see a few pictures, head on over to her blog!

In March, Taj's blessing gave us sisters another chance to all get together. Oh, and for us to meet our new nephew! FaceTime is great, but not as great as holding a little baby in real life. :)
This was such an awesome trip. Taj is such a sweetheart, and so adorable.

About a week after we got home from our spring break trip, I received my mission call!!!!!
I'll be serving in Des Moines, Iowa. I enter the MTC on July 3rd. I'm so very excited.

This weekend Abby graduates from college, with honors. Seriously, how cool is she? Our parents are in town for her graduation, and when they leave, I'll be moving back home with them until my mission. I will sure miss St. George. It's been such a great place to live!

2013 has been an incredible year so far, I can't wait to see what else will happen in our family this year.

2 for 1!

As of a few weeks ago, me (Alex) and Abby live together!
This has been the plan for a while, and I got so anxious and excited, that I moved early.

Just kidding. The real story is that I was nannying,
and planned to stay with that family until November, and then move here.
Well, I quit my job early.
Why, you ask?
Not because I'm flaky, not because I just wanted to.
I quit because they were crazy demanding, and stingy to boot.
I was working 12 hour days Mon-Fri, 6:30am-6:30pm!
I took the world's most disobedient three-year-old to and from swim lessons,
speech therapy, preschool, etc. All this with a clingy one-year-old in tow.
They also expected me to single-handedly perfect his motor skills and potty train him.
They tried to seriously stiff me on gas money, so I got the heck out of there.
It was a long six months.
Anyway, I just needed to let that out.
Sorry, back to the exciting stuff!

The point of this post is to let everyone know that I LOVE it here!
Saint George is great, and Abby and Jesse have been so nice and fun to live with.
Abby and I haven't lived together since she was a senior in high school and I was a freshman.
Needless to say, we didn't get along all that well that year,
now we're both older and closer, and it makes a huge difference!
I just love love love it here.

No more long distance skyping for us!

What's with the infrequent posting?

I don't like it.

Anyway, I don't have a whole lot to share.
I just wanted to post a couple pictures from Abby's last California visit. My squiss came down from Utah just for my graduation! Ashley was there too, which made it really nice. Thanks for coming to support me, you guys! :)

The embrace. Haha.

Hooray for never having to go to high school again!!!

Groupon epic fail

Just thought I'd share this funny story that happened recently while AB and Jess were in town last. Dad (forgetting I'm not a lover of cake/cupcakes) bought me a groupon for my birthday for a dozen cupcakes from the Coronado Cupcakery. He planned for all of us to spend the afternoon in Coronado to hang out and pick out the cupcakes. We got to the Coronado Cupcakery only to find that dad didn't read the fine print on his groupon that said you have to call and place an order for your dozen cupcakes the day before you come pick them up. The girl working there would not make an exception for us despite them having a full display of dozens of cupcakes. Dad was furious and promised never to give the shop his business again. We had cold stone that day instead.

About a week later, not being one to waste money, dad put in an order at the shop with his coupon, and picked the cupcakes up the next day. Good times.

I just can't hide it!

I am one VERY excited aunt these days.
As many of you may already know,
our Ashley sister is having her baby this week!
I'm sure I can speak for all of us squisties when I say that
we couldn't be happier for her.

I think it is crazy how fast the time has gone by.
I feel like Beckett was just born.
I can't imagine how awesome it will be to
have two adorable nephews!
It will be so fun to have a new little baby around.

I just needed to let some of this out.
:)
